Aemonn Murnighan is an interdisciplinary artist, working by weaving through whatever mediums respond to the texture of the work currently flowing through her hands, often from a perspective of performance and post-performance. She works with a sharp attention to and appreciation of the body; it is simultaneously material, practice, process, and subject, using her soft fleshy form in rituals of imprinting, offering, healing, and exorcizing.

In creating objects, experiences, and documentation, she elaborates on a gut response to beautiful, desirable, unspeakable things, those disgustingly sweaty—horrific—abject queer things, those fears of a future lost between breaths. She hopes they insist upon physical weight in stale air. A bittersweet softness nestles at the heart of her jagged aesthetics, and her work does not belong solely to herself or itself or you. It does not want to answer you nor demand an answer from you.

She is currently studying Studio Arts at Concordia University.
